~My Review ~
I got a copy of Frozen Barrier for the Blog tour I am hosting for burning barriers in exchange for my honest review.
Now this is the first book I'm reading of Sara Shirley. I love her style and I think this is the beginning of a beautiful love affair.
Frozen Barriers is my first sport novel I also have read - I love those types of movies but yet i haven't read a book so i wasn't sure how to approach this book.
"just live in the moment and let your heart tell you what to do before your mind starts working out a different answer"
Frozen Barriers is told out of the view of Emily and Jeremy. Emily a figure skater who's life is in totall control by her parents more specifically her mother (who you will love to hate). Emily is on her way to becoming a Olympic contestant.
Jeremy love ice hockey and since he was little his dream was to play for the NFL but not being drafted after college and his ex dumping him because of it he has to settle for AFL. One thing I do have to mention is that I love the fact that Jeremy admit he know how barbie look and that is has to play barbie with his little sister cause that is just what brothers do - i loved it.
"you're my everything. You're my yesterday today, and my tomorrow. No matter where we are five years from now, you're a part of my heart Jeremy Page."
Now this two love birds meets each other when they were kids and then again teenagers and isn't until they are adults that the sparks starts flying - as they say third time a charm. Not only have they to cope with their feeling for each other but also with their scheduels clashing. Life isn't easy but yet they make time for each other. They fight for each other and even when all seems lost they still find their way back to each other.
"my dreams are my reality"
Now while reading the book and the closer you get to the ending you know something is going to happen. You just don't know what. And as the seen plays out infront of you, your eyes can't read fast enough so you can figure out if they will be okay.
Frozen Barriers will have you rooting for Jeremy and Emily and makes you want to fight with them for each other.
I give Frozen Barriers 4 Skying Stars

Author: Sara Shirley
Series: Barriers Series Book #2
Genre: Contemporary Romance
✦ SYNOPSIS ✦
**You should read Frozen Barriers (Barriers #1) first. Hidden Barriers can be read as a standalone, but some situations overlap with those in Frozen Barriers.**
Josh & Sam's Story
Love has been hiding for too long. What happens when it reveals itself?
Josh Page, a Massachusetts State Trooper, wants nothing more than to put his first love behind him. His career is all he’s ever known for the last ten years. Seeing her is a constant reminder of what he could have had if he had not put his career first years ago.
Relationships and dating women have never been part of his lifestyle. He continues to have meaningless sex with women as an attempt to distance himself from his past. That is until he opens the door and a sassy roller derby girl stares back up at him.
****
Samantha Daley’s past haunts her. After college, she spends years building a new life with new friends, roller derby, and a bustling business under her feet. Her past suddenly comes rushing back after just one phone call.
Afraid to love, she never imagines a life where one man can turn her world inside out and make her reevaluate what she wants in her future. Almost instantly, she’s attracted to the man in front of her. He pushes her trust to a new level and is willing to take a chance with her.
Will Sam be able to handle the reminders of her troubled past enough for her to be with Josh, or will it be Josh’s secrets that threaten to tear them apart in the end?
***As with all the books in the Barriers Series, there isn't a cliffhanger.***
**For mature audiences. 18+. This book contains sexual and abusive situations, and strong language.**

~My Review~
I got a copy of Hidden Barriers in exchange for the blog tour I am Hosting for Burning Barriers.
Let start with Sam and Josh. The book is told out of their point of views. Josh is this too hot for his own good cop and Sam is the no taking shit girl that runs her own bar.
They way these two meet is what stories are made off. It is the type of story that your grandparents tell you and you can't believe its true but yet you wish it will happen to you.
"There is something that makes my stomach twist in knots and my heart race whenever you're around"
So Sam has a dark past and don't let anyone - guys specifically - get close to her. Something terrible happened to Sam and it makes your heart break when she tells Jake what it was. Sam does everything a woman in her position will do she push the guy away. Thank heaven Jake is a fighter and he doesn't allow her to do it. Sometimes, actually more the sometimes it takes him a bit longer to realise he must fight for her but in the end he does.
"He pushes something inside me to fight through the barriers I have kept up for far too long"
Now let just get one thing right, through out the whole book you feel something is going to happen and the closer you get to the end the more nervous you get. Something does happen that will make you skip a few pages just to check if everyone survives and go back to continue.
but don't fear there is the happy ending that will leave you with a smile on your face
I give Hidden Barriers 4.5 Hidden stars
★ ABOUT
THE AUTHOR: Sara Shirley ★
I think my love for books started when I was a teenager on summer
vacations reading Mary Higgins Clark novels. As I grew older that turned into
reading romance novels. Now, that's turned into me writing three romance novels
and another on the way in the series.
In college I actually majored in Geography and concentrated in
Travel & Tourism. I still love to travel constantly, but now find myself
working in the world of Finance during the day and writing romance novels at
night.
I was born and raised just north of Boston and currently live with
my husband and cat. When I'm not running a mile a minute with work and books
you can find me at a local wine tasting or out with friends at the pub doing
shots of Patron. I have a weak spot for candy, Ghirardelli chocolate to be
exact. I am addicted to the three "C"s. Coffee, Cheese and Carbs. I
grew up with an Italian family and giving those up will never be an
option.
I typically have a dirty mind and zero filter between my head and
my mouth. If you are around me...good luck. I'm obsessed with hockey, Oregon
football, beaches, Supernatural, Friends and stupid comedy movies. I've been
called a "tall drink of water" due to my height and love for platform
heels. Chances are you will not miss me if we are ever in the same room. Just
look for the chick laughing hysterically, wearing heels and holding a glass of
wine in her hand. That will be me.
